Industrial limescale removal

The use of closed water circuit or tap water in industrial installations requires periodic cleaning of the system from limescale. To remove limescale, it is necessary to pay attention to the material from which the installation is made. Inadequate selection of agents can cause pipes’ damage. We offer descaling preparations dedicated to removing limescale deposits from any type of installation. NOYEN PK8 and NOYEN PK10 effectively remove scale from non-ferrous metals and installations consisting of several types of materials. NOYEN PK10 has a stronger effect due to the hydrochloric acid in the formulation.

Implementation for a company in the shipbuilding industry

A company offering ship repairs and inspections turned to us for help in removing scale from the cooling water system. The customer needed an effective chemical to remove lime deposits without etching the surface.

Solution

The effectiveness and removal time are significantly affected by the temperature and concentration of the preparation. As the temperature and concentration increase, scale removal gets faster. At lower concentrations, we can remove larger amounts of scale but much slower. The chemicals are the most effective at concentrations in the 3-30% range. The descaling bath wears out as a result of over-reacting of the ingredients in the formulation.

The process was realized by conducting tests on the solubility of sediment and scale deposits by immersing deposit fragments in various concentrations of NOYEN PK10 at room temperature. The NOYEN PK10 preparation dissolved the limescale from the whole cooling water system. The descaling process optimized the water circulation in the circuit system and increased the water cooling system capacity without causing corrosion of the installation.
